In case you hadn’t heard, we have another Bravolebrity breakup on our hands. And by that, I mean The Valley stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are getting divorced ~six months after announcing their separation. Not only that, but apparently Brittany served Jax divorce papers while they were filming The Valley, a move straight out of the Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard breakup playbook.
TMZ was the first to report this news and revealed that the moment went down when Jax and Brittany were filming separately on Tuesday. Meaning it was a “third party” who brought the docs to Jax.
As for why Brittany filed, sources tell the outlet that “her estranged hubby has done too many things for a reconciliation to occur.” They also say, “Jax may not be the true villain in this split” and that “all will be revealed” when The Valley returns for a “heavy” second season on Bravo.
Meanwhile, an insider told People that divorcing Jax was “something Brittany knew she had to do for the best interest of herself and her son” and that she ultimately filed “in order to move forward and put a stop to this tumultuous cycle they’ve been living in. There’s a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but she feels adamant that it was the right one.”
According to court docs, Brittany cited the classic “irreconcilable differences” in her filing, and is seeking both primary legal and physical custody of her and Jax’s 3-year-old son.
So far, the former couple haven’t commented on their split, but Brittany did hop on Instagram to inform everyone that she’s getting her “sparkle back,” for what it’s worth:
